BBC Hotlinks

As a founder of Softroom, Oliver created the virtual home of ‘Nomy’ - an intelligent search engine, for the BBC Choice television programme ‘Hotlinks’.

Based on academic research into visualisations of the internet, the virtual set uses three-dimensional depth to depict the organisation of data. Information is given perspective and hierachy through depth; with closer items higher in relevence.

The set is a seamlessly flexible environment, encompassing a search space, a library and a ‘garden’ The innovative programme was shot at BBC TV Centre, including use of the tracking capabilities of the ‘Election Special’ studio.
